Contest of Renewable Energy Sources

Most of the newspaper or blog readers have not ever heard about the international contest at which may take part only renewable energy using local governments. It is obvious that any renewable energy source means an optimal alternative against traditional fuels only at regional or communal level.

At this level the conditions and limits can be planned and the consumption can be properly harmonized with the available capacity, this way the transportation/repartition does not mean undue extra costs. In most situations this system can be created by local work power and local enterprises and its operation means extra jobs for local people.

Training – Reneweble energy from biomass

Green Energy Association in partnership with Fontium Training & Coaching Company organizes a training course in Sfântu Gheorghe, held on 9-12 of February, with the title ‘Renewable Energy from Biomass’.

The course approaches topics such as:  green entrepreneurship, green energy plantations (willow plantations), heating systems with automatic biomass boilers – solutions for the heating of public buildings, especially in the rural areas, funding opportunities.

The course is designated for entrepreneurs, potential entrepreneurs, representatives of local governments and public institutions of the Central Region.

The training is free of charges, as it is organized as part of the project ‘Biomass – the green business’, co-financed by The Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2009-2014’s ‘Green Innovation in the Industry of Romania’ program.

As the number of the participants is limited, the organizers reserve the right to select the participants based on their motivation.

Responsibility in Norwegian Style

The Lókodi Youth Foundation is starting up a project entitled Sustainable Green Waste Management, which in the forthcoming one and a half year is going to implement an innovative, environment friendly venture in order to offer a viable solution for the green waste management of the disadvantaged rural areas of Hargita County.

The recently launched project’s goals are: to build a green waste collection service, to develop a biomass-powered heating system for the workrooms of the foundation and the production and sales of wood wastes products.
“We are trying to promote the self-sustaining Szekler village, where the people are farming and breeding animals. We want to preserve the image of the village, support its values and introduce an alternative energy management.”- said Árpád Orbán, president of the Lókodi Youth Foundation (LIA), emphasizing that the sustainable green waste management is an important step in this process.
